Charismatic Gifts

This topic is one of the most exciting that life offers.  Lovers give gifts.

Background

WWhen we experience certain manifestations regularly, it's often called being "charismatic"  (from the Greek word for "gift")  Examples of these gifts of the Holy Spirit are receiving visions, praying in tongues and healing.

According to Newsweek, Time and The Washington Post charismatics represent the fastest growing religious group worldwide. Conservative estimates put the number of people involved at 600 hundred million people, with the strongest growth occurring in Asia, Africa, and South America.

Before Jesus returned to Heaven he promised to send his followers the Holy Spirit, through which he would continue to live among them. The Spirit first arrived in this new, special way at Pentecost, which brought about the explosive birth of Christianity.

The word "charismatic" is sometimes mistakenly used to mean free-spirited or emotional worship. While that may be an effect, it's not the cause, which is the Spirit's presence through the manifestations, which everyone has, but sometimes they lie dormant.

The Authentic Follower

Come near to Me. Let Me see the real you, free and unfettered from what you think you are.  It is easy for you to hide the true person I created you to be behind so much worldly culture.

I am releasing you as a more authentic follower, one who lives out of My love rather than in doing those things you somehow deem you are supposed to do.  I know your most burning desire is to stay intimately connected to Me.  So know you have been blessed and grace-filled to live an abundant life (John 10:10), one of victory, hope, joy because you have a Lord and Rescuer.

I have availed to you Holy Spirit fire from Heaven to touch you, for you to touch others in My name.  Don't miss Me in favor of a more comfortable routine of daily living.  This gift of the life of Christ you have been given is far too short to let it pass by.  Give Me all of you.  I will receive you in love and use whatever you give Me for My glory.  Consider the tremendous worth your life has to Me.

This preceding word is an example of a prophetic message. For more on this, see

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
